Jack & Jill Rules
Jack & Jill competitions are designed to highlight skills in improvisational Lead/Follow swing dancing, with a variety of partners and music. As a West Coast Swing-centric event, our Jack & Jill competitions are based in WCS. Competitors enter as individuals, are randomly assigned partners, and dance to music selected by the competition DJ.
WSDC Points & Registry
Swingtacular: The Galactic Open is a WSDC Registry event. WSDC points are awarded according to placements for applicable divisions. Points earned at Swingtacular count toward competitors' overall WSDC points standing.
Role & Gender Inclusivity
Swingtacular allows people of any gender to dance as a leader and/or follower. Individuals may not enter the same competition more than once regardless of role. Individuals may enter a maximum of two unique skill divisions within two different roles. Per WSDC rules, you may dance one to two levels down from your primary role without petitioning.

Non-WSDC · All Stars & Champions
Champions Peer Vote Invitational
The Peer Vote Invitational is a non-WSDC Jack & Jill show. All Star and Champion level dancers are invited to enter for free. We will hold a ballot process before the event, in which Leaders will vote for their top Followers, and vice versa. That vote will result in a top 3-5 leaders and followers that will automatically make the final list, and they will judge the opposite role in the preliminary round.
- Open to All Star and Champion level dancers only.
- Free to enter — no entry fee.
- Finalists are determined by Peer Vote, and Peer-Judged Prelim.
- All Stars and Champions vote for their top Leads or Follows, respectively.
- Results are tabulated before the event. Prelim danced on Friday night.
- If you do not make the Peer Vote Invitational list, you may still dance in All Stars, should you qualify.
