Swingtacular: The Galactic Open is committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for everyone. We reserve the right to handle any violations as we deem necessary, including loss of access without refund.
Harm response
Swing Reports & Restorations
Swingtacular partners with Swing Reports & Restorations, a harm response and reduction system. Anyone refusing to participate in the program may have restricted or revoked access to event spaces.

Section 1
Your Rights on the Dance Floor
- Choose who you want to dance with.
- Choose whether to lead, follow, or switch roles during the dance (if your partner agrees).
- Choose to change partners for the next dance, dance again with the same partner, or take a break.
- Say "no" or "stop" if someone makes you feel uncomfortable. You do not have to give a reason.
- Turn down an invitation to dance, or stop dancing with someone who mistreats you or ignores your wishes.
- Feel safe reporting concerns to event staff without fear of retaliation.
Section 2
Your Responsibilities
- Honor others' request(s) immediately. Never pressure anyone to act against their own feelings.
- If someone turns down your invitation to dance, move on gracefully.
- If someone refuses several invitations to dance, stop asking and move on.
- Unless specifically asked, never offer unsolicited advice, teaching, criticism, or comments about physical appearance or dance technique.
Section 3
Unacceptable Behavior
The following behaviors will not be tolerated at Swingtacular:
- Discrimination and bigotry, such as racism, ableism, ageism, queerphobia, transphobia, or any other expression of structural prejudice.
- Deliberately causing physical harm.
- Inappropriate interactions regarding minors.
- Hostile online communications.
- Unwelcomed photography or videography.
Section 4
Consequences
Anyone asked to stop unacceptable behavior is expected to comply immediately. Event staff may take any action deemed necessary, up to and including expulsion from the event without refund.
