Swingtacular has always prided itself on a schedule that incorporates unique competitions and performances while leaving plenty of time for social dancing and workshops.

WSDC Registry

Divisions

Masters

All Levels. Age 50+

Novice

If you have earned fewer than 15 Novice points, you are required to compete in Novice. If you have earned 16 to 29 Novice points, you have the option to compete in Novice.

Intermediate

If you have earned 16+ Novice points, you have the option to compete in Intermediate. If you have 30+ Novice points or have 1+ Intermediate point, you are required to compete in Intermediate.

Advanced

If you have earned 30+ Intermediate points, you have the option to compete in Advanced. If you have earned 45+ Intermediate points or have 1+ Advanced point, you are required to compete in Advanced.

All Stars

If you have earned 60+ Advanced points, you have the option to compete in All Stars. If you have earned 90+ Advanced points or have 1+ All Star point, you are required to compete in All Stars.

Champions Peer Vote Invitational

Non-WSDC

Non-WSDC. All Stars and Champions vote for their top leads and follows. Finals determined by peers.

Pro/Am Routine

Prepared routine with a professional partner. Pre-registration required.

Competition entry

Competition entry fees increase significantly after early registration ends. Pre-register to lock in lower rates. Full weekend pass required to compete.

General eligibility

Who Can Compete?

Entry requirements

  • Full weekend pass required
  • Register by the official entry deadline
  • Pay required entry fees
  • Sign legal waiver (parent/guardian for under 18)
  • Minimum age: 10 years old

Role & gender inclusivity

  • Any gender may dance as leader and/or follower
  • Register for the role(s) that maximizes your experience
  • May not enter the same competition more than once
  • May enter up to two unique skill divisions across two different roles

Level petitions

Not in the Right Level?

Petition to move UP — Due July 22nd

All petitions to "dance up" must be submitted to the WSDC Chief Judges Committee (CJC) at https://www.worldsdc.com/level-up-petition/. The CJC will review your Points Registry record and submitted videos. They will notify you of their decision within three (3) weeks. Approved petitions allow you to enter that higher division for six (6) months at any WSDC event worldwide.

Petition Up

Petition to move DOWN — Due August 7th by 11:59PM PST

To move down a division in your primary role, submit your petition via the contact page by August 7th, 11:59PM PST, addressed to the Head Judge. You may register preemptively for a division you are petitioning into — if your petition is unsuccessful, we will refund the entry fee.
